This has been the first full week of training after the holidays. During the two weeks of the holidays, training was somewhat sporadic.

This week for Tueday's speed session we ran 1 mile at our normal pace and then mile at our "all-out" pace (about 1.5 minutes faster than our normal pace). As usual, the run was in Central Park.

On Saturday, we did an all sport training where we trained with not only the marathoners but also the triathlon team. We ran one mile in the Park and then returned to our starting point for a circuit workout around Bethesda Fountain. The circuit consisted of lunges, squats, push-ups and ab work. We then went back out for another mile. This loop continued five times for a total of 5 miles! Our legs were pretty shaky at the end! It was pretty inspiring to see the triathletes - some were doing one arm pushups - they are in AMAZING shape!

Today, I did the Fred Lebow Classic 5 miler - one of the NYRRC races - it was freezing (only about 19 degrees with windchill) But it was an easy way to get in the required 4-5 miles for today.

So training is on track and I am also trying to focus on fundraising. Over the past two weeks, I have been sending out my letters. In addition, Erica (my running partner for the marathon) and I have set up a fundraising Happy Hour for January 23rd. I hope to be close to reaching my goal by Feb 28th so that I can use the remaining time before the marathon to focus on training!
